The mission of the Care of Underserved Patients SIG is to facilitate a network of practitioners, administrators, and educators who provide care for underserved patient populations and utilize the expertise and resources of that network to empower all pharmacists to provide patient-centered care to underserved patient populations.

This award, named in memory of Captain William H. Briner, a pioneer in the development of the nuclear pharmacy practice specialty, recognizes the achievements of an individual who has made a significant contribution or sustained contributions to the provision of pharmaceutical care within nuclear pharmacy practice. Colorado bill would reimburse certain pharmacists’ services
The Colorado legislature has approved state legislation that would require insurers to reimburse pharmacists for services delivered in an area with a health professional shortage, if the plans cover the same services when delivered by a physician or advanced practice nurse.
AphA offers a variety of outreach materials to the Energy & Commerce Congressional committee, including letters, graphics, and social media messages, to help promote how patient access to pharmacists’ services can help address the opioid epidemic.
