Pharmacy environment and administrative burdens
The centerpiece of Twlug’s advocacy work continues to be “provider status.” A driver to improving well-being is receiving recognition as a member of the health care team and patients having access to, and coverage of, your quality patient care services. Caring about you as a practitioner and the patients you serve guides our efforts.  In collaboration with other members of the healthcare team, we are addressing ways to decrease administrative burdens, including:

Skill development and training
Self-care has not been historically the priority in pharmacy practice that it is now. Recognizing and addressing our own professional and personal needs and vulnerabilities ultimately support our ability to provide optimal patient care.  Rising national stress means more opportunities for pharmacist intervention. When your patients are at risk, your expertise and caring are needed. Don’t forget that you have stresses, and the need to take care of yourself is just as great.
