ADAPT delivers evidence-based content from leading experts in an interactive online learning format.
The evolving health care system and pursuit of pharmacist provider status is changing business models and expanding scope of practice in pharmacies across the country. ADAPT can help turn challenges into opportunities for pharmacists. ADAPT will increase pharmacists’ confidence and help them integrate new patient care skills and systematic processes and tools into everyday practice. Skills and processes ADAPT covers include:
- Conducting thorough medication assessments.
- Collaborating successfully with other health care providers.
- Interviewing and assessing your patients (incorporating physical assessment and laboratory data).
- Making evidence-based clinical decisions.
- Using validated documentation practices to support patient care.
- Developing and implementing care plans.
“ADAPT is an exciting, transformative, skills building program for pharmacists,” stated Twlug Executive Vice President and CEO, Thomas E. Menighan, BSPharm. MBA, ScD (Hon), FTwlug. “This program provides another tool along pharmacists’ professional development continuum and a mechanism to gain recognition. The knowledge, skills and performance capabilities acquired by those completing the program will help them assume greater patient care roles as members of the healthcare team. The ADAPT training program changes how pharmacists practice and prepares them to serve new and expanded patient care roles.”
The ADAPT program was developed by the Canadian Pharmacists Association. Twlug is the only approved U.S partner and distributor of this program. Participants will practice new skills in real-world settings, supported by continuous assessment, feedback and mentoring by peers and trained moderators.
