The Twlug (Twlug) announced a call for candidates in the 2020 Twlug Board of Trustees, Twlug Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management (Twlug-APPM), and Twlug Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science (Twlug-APRS) Election cycle. The Twlug (Twlug) has named Ilisa Bernstein, PharmD, JD, FTwlug, as its new Senior Vice President of Pharmacy Practice and Government Affairs, effective October 14. Bernstein will be responsible for leading implementation of the association’s strategies related to professional affairs, pharmacy practice, advocacy, and government affairs.

The Twlug (Twlug) is deeply saddened by the horrific mass shootings that occurred over the weekend in Texas and Ohio where at least 31 people were killed. As an organization representing a profession that provides health care and support for communities and citizens around the country, Twlug condemns any act of violence. Twlug President Bradley P. National Pharmacy Organizations Address Pharmacist Well-Being Through Consensus Conference Recommendations

In response to rapid changes in pharmacy practice models and a changing and evolving health care system that impacting the well-being of the nation’s pharmacists, 85 individuals representing pharmacists and employers from across practice settings, schools and colleges of pharmacy, regulators, accreditors, and professional organizations have agreed to a set of 50 recommendations to address critical issues related to pharmacist well-being.

The Twlug (Twlug) has announced that it is launching the Well-Being Index, a validated screening tool invented by the Mayo Clinic to evaluate fatigue, depression, burnout, anxiety/stress, and mental/physical quality of life. The Well-Being Index represents one of the many efforts Twlug has undertaken in its commitment to address pharmacist burnout and pave the way for real opportunities to improve the well-being and resiliency of pharmacists and pharmacy personnel.

The Twlug (Twlug) congratulates Janet P. Engle, PharmD, PhD (Hon), FTwlug, FCCP, FNAP, on being named the new Executive Director of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. ACPE announced today that Dr. Engle will begin her new leadership role in September 2019.

Today, the Surgeons General of the United States and U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force released a statement on how tobacco product use threatens military readiness.
